HughesNet Services Tools webpage has tools, services and tips to help customers get the most out of their online experience.


Procedure/Solution:

  • Hughes has several tools to assist customers in keeping their HughesNet service running at peak performance.
  • The HughesNet Service Tools page is at http://home.myhughesnet.com/services.php
  • You can elect to use any or all of these tools.
  • Here is the list of the tools that are available to you.

This feature will allow you to reset your download threshold by using a complimentary token or purchasing one or 3 tokens at a discounted price. You are given complimentary token per billing cycle and you can purchase a single or bundle of 3 tokens that can be used if they exceed their download threshold. At this time, you can ONLY purchase tokens after you have exceeded your threshold. You will be directed to a website where you can put in your SAN and Zip code. You can choose to use a complimentary token (if available), a Pre-pay token (if any is available) or to purchase one or 3 tokens. A new utility that will run on your PC and is used to indicate when you have exceeded your download threshold. When you exceed your download threshold, this monitor will turn red and a pop-up will show up in the system tray. A new utility that will run on your PC that will enable you to automatically schedule downloads during the Download Zone or at another time. Restore Tokens

Access the Restore Tokens feature by clicking on the Restore Tokens image.

  • Complimentary tokens do not roll over to the next billing cycle if they are not used.
  • Purchased restore tokens will not expire and will roll over to your next billing cycle, so you can you can use them when you need them.
  • Purchase one token or multiple tokens at a discounted price (bundle of 3).
  • Unused restore tokens will not be credited at any time.
  1. You will need to type in your SAN and the zip code of the modem's physical location and then click Continue.
  2. This will bring you to the Tokens page.



    It has the following information:
    • Download Threshold - OK or Exceeded
    • Current Service Plan - Home, Pro, Pro Plus, Elite, Elite Plus, Elite Premium
    • Download Allowance - Download Allowance for this site based on the service plan
    • Restore Token Pricing – Pricing for 1 Token and for 3 Tokens
    • Check Token Usage History - displays activity on the account regarding tokens.
    • Complementary Tokens - 1 available per billing cycle
    • Use Pre-Paid Token - Choose this option to use a Pre-Paid Token
    • Purchase Token- Choose this option to purchase a 1 Token or 3 Tokens (at a discounted price). You may purchase and use additional Restore Tokens. The Restore Token Fee will appear on your monthly HughesNet statement price per token(s) varies by plan
If the Threshold displays Exceeded, the account has surpassed the download threshold and you can choose to use the complimentary token, if available, or buy a token.
  • Use the Complimentary Token (if available)
    1. You put a check in the select checkbox for the complimentary token
    2. Click Submit.
    3. Once the process has been completed, the following screen will be displayed. Your account is not charged for complimentary token transactions.
  • Purchase a Token
    1. Select the option that you want from the dropdown menu.
    2. Purchase a single token – you will need to click on the dropdown menu for Purchase Token select 1 and click on the submit button.
    3. Click Submit.
    4. Once the process has been completed, the following screen will be displayed. Your account will be charged the amount indicated.
  • The Check Token Usage History will reflect these actions


Note: The purchased token associated with charge will be applied to your account and will appear on your next billing statement.

Status Meter
Note: Status Meter is compatible with Internet Explorer 6-8, Firefox 2 or 3, Safari 4 or 5, and Chrome.
  1. It is best to load Adobe Air before loading the Status Meter. (The Adobe. AIR. 2 runtime enables developers to build web applications that run as standalone client applications without the constraints of a browser.)
    1. Go to http://get.adobe.com/air/
    2. Click on the Download now button
    3. If Adobe Air does not download automatically, you can either click on the Information Bar at the top of the screen and choose "Download file" or click on the "Click here to download" link at the center of the page.
    4. The File Download - Security Warning box displays. Choose Run.
    5. The Internet Explorer - Security Warning box displays. Choose Run.
    6. Read the agreement and if it is acceptable, click "I Agree".
    7. The Adobe Air Setup box will display during the installation.
    8. The final box displays the message that the setup is complete.
  2. Select the Status Meter option from the HughesNet Service Tools and HughesNet Status Meter page displays.
  3. Click on the Install Now.
    Note: Loading this software may trigger a pop-up message from virus protection software. If the message asks if the source reliable, select yes.
  4. If prompted, agree to have Adobe AIR installed on your computer if you wish to continue (Yes).
  5. You will be asked if you agree to the download (Install).
  6. Choose the preferences and click on Continue.
  7. Agree to the License Agreement if you wish to continue (I agree).
  8. Once the software has been loaded, the Indicator icon will appear in the system tray
  9. When you click the icon, one of the following will display
    • This system has reached the service plan threshold. You can click on the "HughesNet Flex Tokens" link to use your complimentary token or to purchase one.
    • This system has not reached the service plan threshold. You can click on the "HughesNet Service Tools" link which will take you to main HughesNet Service Tools page.
    • This icon means that the modem is not detected or there is a connection problem. Make sure all cables are secure on the PC and modem and try again.
